Foreign investment

Foreign investment is the acquisition of assets located in the Principality by individuals not resident in Andorra, provided they do not have Andorran nationality, and by legal entities of foreign nationality. 

The competent ministry must resolve the application for foreign investment authorization within a maximum period of one month.

Direct investments

It is the participation in Andorran companies or through the constitution or expansion of branches or other types of permanent establishments. In order to incorporate a company in Andorra by a non-resident, it is necessary to have the approval of the Government of Andorra. The procedures can last a minimum of three months.

Portfolio investments

Through the acquisition of property and other property rights, and administrative concessions that involve the exclusive use of real estate, located in the territory of the Principality of Andorra.

Investments in real estate

Through the acquisition of ownership and other rights over real estate and administrative concessions involving the private use of real estate located in the territory of the Principality of Andorra.

Investments in real estate to be made by foreign legal persons engaged in the acquisition or construction of real estate for marketing, including leasing, may not be authorized.
